God's Image!

Then Jesus said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." And they were amazed at him. (Mk, 12:17)
The Gospel of this Sunday, 29th Sunday of the year, presents us with a difficult saying of Jesus. "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." What would that really mean?
There is a beautiful explanation to this passage given by St. Augustine. Thanks to Fr. Zevini who brought it to my attention.
"As Caesar searches his image in your coin, in the same way God searches his image in your soul. Return to Caesar all that belongs to Caesar? What does Caesar claim from you? His image. What does God claim from you? His image, but the image of Cesar is in the coin, while the image of God is in you. If when you lose your coin, you cry, because you lost an image of Cesar, when you adore an idol, why do you not cry, because by doing such a thing you injure the image of God which is in you?"
